Honolulu Board of Water Supply officials on Tuesday asked Mililani Mauka residents to conserve water because of a problem at a pumping station.

Crews from Hawaiian Electric Co. and BWS are trying to repair an electrical problem at a pumping station, water officials said.

Teams are using a portable pump to provide water to the reservoirs so water service will continue. However, the pump is not able to keep water levels to meet normal demands, officials said.

Officials asked that residents limit water usage to essentials such as cooking, drinking and hygiene.

Board of Water Supply officials did not have a time frame for how long repairs would take.
