Bank Workers Say Robber Showed Handgun

Police investigate a bank robbery at the Salt Lake branch of American Savings Bank.
A gunman robbed the Salt Lake branch of American Savings Bank on Tuesday morning, police said.

It happened at about 9 a.m. at 848 Ala Lilikoi St.

The robber flashed the teller a handgun and demanded money, officials said. The man took off in a four-door compact car after the robbery and headed toward Aloha Stadium on Salt Lake Boulevard, witnesses said.

Robber's Description:
Age: 20s-30s
Height: 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall
Weight: 120 pounds
Clothing: camouflage baseball cap, blue dress shirt, khaki pants, white shoes and a blue mask

Honolulu police asked that anyone who has information about the robbery to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
