KAILUA, Hawaii -- A Kailua landmark struck out for its final night.Bowlers of all levels packed into Pali Lanes Friday evening for the bowling alley's last night. The alley opened in 1962.Sixty employees, along with the alley's snack shop owners, are losing their jobs.Over the years, Pali Lanes has been a second home to regulars."I think its kind of a bummer because there aren't any family-oriented things. There is not really much to do, and I mean it is better than kids out on the streets and getting into trouble," said Kailua resident Lance Lando.Lando is quite the bowler, bowling a 267 his first game Friday night. There is speculation the bowling alley could reopen after its lease ends in January. The only public bowling alleys left are Aiea Bowl and Leeward Bowl.
