A 21-year-old Big Island woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Monday for second-degree crystal methamphetamine, or "ice," trafficking.

In June, the Big Island Police Ice Task Force searched the home and vehicle of Laupahoehoe resident Rene Lynn Halstead.

They found more than 400 grams of ice, 32 grams of marijuana, 100 prescription pain pills, drug paraphernalia and more than $7,500 in cash.

In October, Halstead pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted trafficking, a charge that could have carried as much as 20 years in prison.
