Police shut down a portion of Farrington Highway on Sunday night after a two-vehicle crash that left three people in serious condition.

It happened at about 7:30 p.m. near the Waianae Fire Station.

Police shut down the eastbound lane while they investigated.

Paramedics treated two adults and a child and took them to a hospital.

A vehicle hit their truck as it entered Farrington Highway, police said. The impact threw one man, in his 40s, from the bed of a truck, police said.

Another man in his 30s and a 12- to 18-month-old child were also injured, police said. It is not clear if they were also in the bed of the truck.
