Defendant Pleads Not Guilty To MurderVictorino Arrested In Washington StateUPDATED: 6:01 p.m. HST December 28, 2000 Joseph Victorino, 65, pleaded not guilty Thursday to murdering Michael Maher 14 years ago in Kalihi.
Victorino was arraigned from the Oahu Community Correctional Center by video link to circuit court.
He shot Maher to death in November 1986, according to witnesses. Maher was shot multiple times outside the PWC Lounge on Kalihi Street.
Authorities arrested Victorino (pictured, right) in Washington State and extradited to Hawaii.
He faces charges of second-degree murder. If convicted, he would face life in prison with the possibility of parole.
His trial has been scheduled for the end of February. He remains in custody on $55,000 bail.
