A person's body was discovered at Ala Moana Beach Park early Sunday morning.

Sources told KITV Island Television News that the body is that of an unidentified woman believed to be in her 50s to 60s.

Authorities said beachgoers found the woman's body just before 7 a.m. near a pavilion between lifeguard towers 1B and 1C. The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was clothed and no foul play was suspected.

"There was an elderly couple standing there, and I was sitting in my car. They sounded kind of frantic," said Jason Bringas, a paddle boarder at the park early Sunday morning, saw the two bystanders who noticed the woman's body.

Bringas said the park's groundskeepers helped to identify the woman to authorities.

"They told me it was a homeless lady that was here, kind of camped out," Bringas said. "They say she had been there for a while."

Groundskeepers were later seen removing the campground and shopping carts from the park.
