Honolulu police on Thursday asked for the public's help in finding a man who broke into a Barbers Point home.

It happened on Nov. 5 at about 10 a.m., police said.

A woman was sleeping in her bedroom at a residence on Guadalcanal Avenue when she woke up to find a man standing in her bedroom, police said.

The man locked the woman and her 11-month-old child in the bedroom and searched the rest of the home. He went back to the woman, showed her a knife and demanded a sexual favor, police said.

The woman refused and the man took off in some kind of vehicle, police said.

The man faces a first-degree attempted sexual assault charge.
