City's Auction Site Offers Trucks To Computers

Property No Longer In Use Goes Up For Bid

POSTED: 11:24 am HST October 26, 2009

The city is looking to sell off some of its items no longer in use and make some money.

There are items such as cameras, computers, monitors, Mini Disc recorders and even a Volvo garbage truck.

"We are delighted to provide this simple and economical service that allows everyone to participate," Mayor Mufi Hannemann said in a written statement. "It is quick, easy and cost-effective."

The city's Department of Budget and Fiscal Services is using a Web site instead of live auctions.

The public can access the site and view items for auction. You must register if you want to make a bid. You can go to the Web site to register, or click on the "Public Access" bar, click on "Business Opportunities," then the link "Search for Surplus Auctions."
