Three members of Hawaii's congressional delegation reacted Friday to the Florida Supreme Court decision ordering a manual recount of thousands of presidential election ballots.
Rep. Patsy Mink, D-Hawaii, urged people to be patient given that the case is being appealed. "I think we have to sit it out until the appeal is taken to the U.S. Supreme Court," Mink told KITV4 News.
Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawaii, said the Florida high court's ruling reflects his position, "that every vote properly executed should be counted."
Sen. Daniel Akaka, D-Hawaii, through a spokesperson, also said he believes the Florida court made the right decision.
Sen. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, was en route back to the islands and was not available for comment.
