Big Island Police Arrest 2 In Football Jersey Theft

Burglary Happened On May 25 In Konawaena HS Locker Room

Big Island police arrested two males on Thursday in connection with the theft of 82 football jerseys from Konawaena High School.

Police arrested Timothy-John Reilly, 18, of Kealakekua, and a 17-year-old boy. Police charged the two with second-degree burglary, second-degree theft and fourth-degree criminal property damage.

Officers placed Reilly in custody at the Kona police cellblock on $2,500 bail. Police released the juvenile to the custody of his guardians.

The green and white jerseys were stolen from the school's locker room on May 25. The jerseys were estimated to be worth $8,000.

Big Island police thanked the public for helping solve the case.
