1 Killed, 2 Injured In Windward Oahu CrashesBoth Crashes Happened Near 7-Eleven StoresPOSTED: 9:52 am HST May 18, 2009 KAAAWA, Hawaii -- Two separate crashes on Oahu's windward side left one person dead and two others injured this weekend.A motorcyclist and his 10-year-old passenger were struck by another vehicle on Sunday afternoon on Kamehameha Highway in Kaaawa, police said. They believe the girl is the man's daughter.The driver of the Hawaiian Telcom truck was turning into the 7-Eleven convenience store parking lot when he collided with the motorcycle, police said.Paramedics treated the two on the motorcycle. They took the girl to an area hospital in stable condition. Paramedics took the driver of the motorcycle to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died, an Emergency Medical Services spokesman said.Police identified the motorcyclist as a local resident in his 50s.Before that crash, a bicyclist was critically injured when a passing car farther up Kamehameha Highway hit him.The crash happened near the Hauula 7-Eleven in the southbound direction."For whatever reason the bicyclist apparently tried to cut across the road and he was struck and taken to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition," Honolulu Police Department Lt. Darren Izumo said.The bicyclist is in his 50s, police said.The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
