Epilepsy Group Upset With 'Kangaroo Jack'

Foundation Says Film Pokes Fun At Epileptics

The Epilepsy Foundation has a beef with the new family comedy "Kangaroo Jack."

Jerry O'Connell with 'Kangaroo Jack'The group is upset because epileptics are the butt of two jokes in the comedy.

In one joke, a man tries to describe a woman and he gestures wildly and makes a variety of sounds. The friend guesses the woman is an epileptic.

The foundation said such "cheap shots" will make epileptics in the audience feel bad.

In the film, two lifelong friends (Jerry O'Connell and Anthony Anderson) are sent to Australia to deliver a wad of mob cash but lose it when a kangaroo inadvertently hops away with it.

The foundation wants Warner Brothers to take out the jokes in the video and DVD release of the film.

"Kangaroo Jack" has become a hit at the box office, opening at No. 1 two weeks ago, and narrowly missed the top spot again over the weekend. It has earned over $35 million in ticket sales so far.
