Two key witnesses took the stand Tuesday testifying they tried to stop the fatal fight that left a young Waimanalo man dead.

Stille Keohokapu said in court Tuesday he tried to stop his brother Glen and Steven Wilcox from fighting.

The witness said Keohokapu and his wife were in a domestic argument in a bar parking lot when Wilcox approached the couple.

"He was telling my brother that's a female, that's a female," Keohokapu said.

"When he was saying, 'That's a female, that's a female,' Do you know what he meant?" a prosecutor asked.

"I guess he was trying to intervene with my brother and Kauilani in the situation," Keohokapu said.

The defendant's brother said Wilcox took off his shirt and began acting aggressively towards Keohokapu.

"I was in between them trying to keep them separated trying to get Steve from coming towards my brother and pushing my brother back," Keohokapu said.

Wilcox's ex-girlfriends mother witnessed the fight.

"I was like stop, stop, please no fighting. But, as Steven was walking towards glen he took off his watch he took off his necklace," Lorraine Aea said. "All I did was try to calm them down so that way the would stop."

Aea said the men were throwing punches at each other and Keohokapu pulled out a knife.

The defendant's brother testified Wilcox did not have a weapon.

The fight ended with Wilcox stabbed in the chest.

"He fell back towards the tailgate of the blue truck and I guess he was just trying got gasp for air. So, me and Karina held onto him. We told him please stay still please not to try to move as much because you have blood coming out of you," Aea said.

The defendant's wife is expected to take the stand Wednesday morning.
