Police said the posted speed limit is 25 mph and the driver was speeding.

It's what your vehicle can handle if you go too far past that you breaking the laws of physics," said Lt. Darren Izumo, with the Honolulu Police Department.

The 27-year old driver died at the scene. Her 23-year old passenger was taken to the hospital and police said her condition has improved.
