HONOLULU -- Football fans from across the country were unanimous on Sunday in wanting the Pro Bowl to return to Hawaii.Sunday's game at Aloha Stadium was the 30th and possibly final Pro Bowl ever played in Hawaii.Next year, the NFL plans to move the big event to Miami over the objections of passionate fans."Keep the game here in Hawaii Nei, oh yeah," football fans sang on Sunday."Why wouldn't you have it here?" asked Moanalua resident Brian Smutny. The Pro Bowl has been held at Aloha Stadium the week after the Super Bowl for 30 years. But next year the event is scheduled for Miami's Dolphin Stadium.Even some visitors from the East Coast object to that."You just play the Miami Dolphins, you go to Miami. You come to Hawaii, have a great time, meet the locals, it doesn't get much better," said Todd Marshall, of Washington, D.C. "The best party in the world."Next year, the Pro Bowl is scheduled for the weekend before the Super Bowl."You gotta bring it to Hawaii after the Super Bowl, so all the Super Bowl fans can come here," said David Sweetland, another visitor from Washington, D.C.The NFL says that the change is experimental and is negotiating with the state over future Pro Bowls. The NFL has proposed the next two of four Pro Bowls be played in Hawaii. The Hawaii Tourism Authority wants the two consecutive games after next year's event in Miami. No agreement has been reached. So football fans made the most of this year's Pro Bowl just in case."We've been coming since 1980," Makakilo resident Rita Bishop said. "My dad always ordered season tickets for us."Tourists spent millions of dollars in Hawaii while attending the Pro Bowl last year. And they're demanding a good reason to return to the islands."Pro Bowl. That's why I'm here. See my players, man," fan Corey Quigly said."There's no 'Aloha' in Miami," fan Jon Robertson, of San Francisco, said.Fans who called themselves the Forty Niner Knuckleheads summed up the opinion of cheering tailgaters on Sunday: "No, no, no don't take our Pro Bowl away!"
