HONOLULU -- More than 500 UPW workers have signed a petition to remove its new leaders because ousted leader Gary Rodrigues helped choose them.
The members want the parent union to remove the acting state director and the current board. They also want to take over the union's finance.
"We want all the agreements that were done by the board with Gary when he appointed or when he suggested they appointed Dwight Takeno to be revoked," group spokesman Keith Faufata said. "We want them all to be removed from the state executive board offices and (we want) a new election held by the international union."
The workers said they hope to get more signatures on the petition.
