HONOLULU -- Retired car dealer Jimmy Pflueger, who was indicted last week on manslaughter charges, turned himself in to authorities Monday morning.

Pflueger arrived at Halawa State Prison at 9:45 a.m. and was accompanied by his attorney and representatives from the state attorney general's office.

A grand jury on Kauai indicted Pflueger on seven counts of manslaughter and one count of reckless endangering for the collapse of the Kaloko Dam in 2006.

A public safety spokesperson said Pflueger was booked and processed and was released about 90 minutes later after he posted $71,000 bail.
