Honolulu Community College on Friday received a massive grant worth millions to help develop top-tier engineers and technology experts.

Siemens PLM Software gave a grant of $327 million to HCC for its Pacific Center for Advanced Technology, or P-CAT.

The gift includes software, student and instructor training and helps to enrich the engineering curriculum.

"Our job is to push the frontiers of knowledge and improve the lives for Hawaii's people and this generous gift from Siemens will allow us to push forward in a significant way," University of Hawaii President David McClain said.

HCC has discussed developing new courses in its architectural, engineering, and computer science programs.

Siemens is a provider of product management from its design to disposal.
