Politics in Hawaii will soon be getting national attention. ABC's "Good Morning America" is doing a series of reports leading up to the November general election called "50 States in 50 Days."

The Hawaii story will look at unprecedented interest in the election because of Hawaii-born presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.

"The most compelling story is the political engagement of citizens of Hawaii feeling a part of the process in ways that perhaps they haven't in years," GMA Weekend anchor Bill Weir said.

The story will also look at the sovereignty movement.

Hawaii's 50 States in 50 Days report will air on "Good Morning America" on Sunday Oct. 19.
