MILILANI, Hawaii -- A two-alarm fire gutted a townhouse in Mililani on Sunday afternoon. The fire broke out at the townhouse on Kanamee Street near Kipapa Drive at about 2 p.m.The blaze started in the kitchen and quickly made its way upstairs, a fire department spokesperson said.
"There were some renovations going on. We had a contractor, a plumbing constructor, doing dome soldering of copper wiring, and what we think what happened was it might have ignited some insulation materials behind the walls," Capt. Earle Kealoha said.A neighboring unit suffered water damage. No one was injured, fire officials said.
