A two-alarm fire gutted a townhouse in Mililani on Sunday afternoon.

The fire broke out at the townhouse on Kanamee Street near Kipapa Drive at about 2 p.m.

The blaze started in the kitchen and quickly made its way upstairs, a fire department spokesperson said.

"There were some renovations going on. We had a contractor, a plumbing constructor, doing dome soldering of copper wiring, and what we think what happened was it might have ignited some insulation materials behind the walls," Capt. Earle Kealoha said.

A neighboring unit suffered water damage.

No one was injured, fire officials said.
