A U.S. Army team destroyed six chemical weapons this week at Schofield Barracks.

The military used a special technology container called the Transportable Detonation Chamber TC-60.

Teams used the container to destroy two chemical munitions on Wednesday and four more on Thursday.

Officials said they used it to destroy 65 other chemical weapons before this.

The Army said it coordinated the weapon destruction with the state, county and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Army said it will now disassemble the chamber and send it to the mainland for further operations.
