Voters this November will determine whether or not the state should hold a constitutional convention to make changes to Hawaii's constitution.

At the state Capitol on Tuesday, Lt. Gov. James Duke Aiona introduced 10 members of a task force that will study the cost of having a convention. The task force is made up of government and community leaders.

The state can hold a constitutional convention every 10 years, if the voters approve it.

"Voters need to know basically what a constitutional convention is, what the purposed of it is, what the process is, and what the cost is, all in a fair and impartial manner," Aiona said.

The last time the constitution was changed was 30 years ago. The new task force hopes to be able to tell voters the cost of a convention by August.
