UH Agrees To $14.52 Million TV Rights Contract

POSTED: 10:25 am HST May 21, 2008

The University of Hawaii reached an agreement with KHNL/KFVE and Oceanic Time Warner Cable to broadcast UH sports.

The deal means a minimum of $14.52 million over six years.

"I believe this is one of the most lucrative local television packages in the country. Through this relationship, our fans have enjoyed extensive coverage of UH sporting events and the revenue has really helped support our student-athletes," UH Athletics Director Jim Donovan said in a written statement.

UH will also get more than $350,000 in commercial production and advertising time on K5, KHNL and Oceanic's various channels and networks each year.

UH will receive more money from pay-per-view sales if they top certain marks.
