Hawaiian Airlines released a report on Monday that showed a 25.5 percent increase in the number of passengers flying in April following the shutdown of Aloha Airlines.

Hawaiian Air flew 718,767 passengers last month compared to 572,613 in 2007.

Aloha closed at the beginning of April when officials said the company's financer would no longer fund the operations.

Hawaiian took on passengers for free to the interislands and the mainland.

Hawaiian Air recently raised fares and added a $25 fee for a second piece of luggage.
