NOAA Investigates Turtle's Death On Maui

HONOLULU -- National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration officials are looking into what killed a green sea turtle found on a Maui beach.

The remains of the green sea turtle were found on Maluaka Beach in front of the Maui Prince Hotel.

People at the scene said the turtle was covered in tumors.

NOAA officials said the turtle weighed about 200 pounds and was taken to the NOAA facility to be preserved.

The turtle will then be sent to Oahu for a necropsy.

The investigation of what caused the turtle's death is expected to take about a month.
