Median Price For Single-Family Homes ClimbsVolume Of Units Sold Up Over Recent MonthsPOSTED: 2:55 pm HST April 1, 2008 HONOLULU -- The median price for single-family homes resold in March climbed to its highest level since October, according to numbers released by the Honolulu Board of Realtors Tuesday.The median price for single-family homes moved up to $628,000 from $599,000 in February.The median price for resold condominiums dipped slightly from $335,000 in February to $329,300 in March."The limited availability of land an housing on Oahu should prevent any significant downturn in prices," HBR research economist Harvey Shapiro said.The number or homes and condos sold in March was the highest it had been in recent months. Last month, 282 single-family homes sold. That is the highest number of homes sold since August when 381 homes sold.The number of condos sold in March rose to 392. That is more sold in any month since October."Even with the instability in the finance industry, the market for Oahu residential properties appears to be holding, unlike the very negative conditions we hear about on the mainland," HBR President Dana Chandlers said.
