Aloha Airlines' last flight arrived at Honolulu International Airport on Monday, ending more than six decades of service.

There were few dry eyes in the terminal as hundreds of Aloha employees gathered to witness the end of Aloha. They cheered the arriving passengers and held each other tight as they said goodbye to Aloha Airlines.

"It was so hard, but it was great though. It was a great ride, our last grind," 30-year veteran Chris Opiopio said.

"Very emotional; very, very emotional. I was OK until I walked out into the jetway. It's been great though. It's been real great," Aloha employee Andrea Kaea said.

"This is the saddest day of my career and the happiest day of my career. We had so much fun today, but it's sad," pilot Michael Uslan said.

"We're going to miss all of our customers that have been so loyal to us, and we just want to thank Hawaii for 61 wonderful years. It's been a great ride," 30-year veteran Susan Moss said.

The shutdown leaves 1,900 people without jobs.

Aloha's cargo and aviation services, which employs 1,600 people continues to operate.
