Officials Reopen Hanalei Bay After Sharks Spotted

Officials reopened Kauai's Hanalei Bay on Monday morning after several tiger sharks were seen in the area over the weekend.

Officials closed the bay on Saturday at 4 p.m. They kept the beach closed on Sunday.

The tiger sharks were about 10 to 12 feet long. They were seen swimming in the middle of Hanalei Bay with one shark swimming about 15 to 20 yards off shore

Officials were warned beachgoers to stay out of the water. They posted shark sightings signs in the area.
