Schofield Soldier Convicted Of Assault In Iraqi's Death
Shore Given 120 Days In Prison

HONOLULU -- A Schofield Barracks soldier accused of shooting and killing an unarmed Iraqi civilian to death was convicted of assault on Wednesday.Spc. Christopher Shore, 26, of Georgia, said he was ordered to kill the man by his sergeant and intentionally missed when he fired his weapon.Investigators said Shore shot the man during a raid near Kirkuk, Iraq, in June. Shore said Sgt. Trey Corrales shot the civilian. Corrales has already been charged with murder. His court-martial is scheduled for April.
A military jury convicted Shore of aggravated assault a day after his court-martial began.Shore was ordered to spend 120 days in prison.
