2008 HENDERSON, Nev. -- A woman who police said used her children as hostages during a routine traffic stop has died after being shot by an officer, Las Vegas station KVVU is reporting.Deshira Selimaj, 42, died at St. Rose-Siena hospital after the Tuesday afternoon shooting near Sunridge Heights and Pecos Ridge parkways.Police spokesman Todd Rasmussen said a confrontation ensued after the woman's husband, 65-year-old Zyber Selimaj, was stopped in another ice cream truck.Shortly after police pulled over Zyber Selimaj, Deshira Selimaj arrived in another ice cream truck with her 7- and 11-year-old sons, police said. She then began to wield a knife and at one point, police said she used one of the children as a shield.Officers tried to stun the woman with a Taser but failed. When she made an aggressive move, an officer shot her.Zyber Selimaj was arrested and is in the Henderson city jail.
