The federal government is moving to deport the man whose gambling enterprise led to a double-fatal shooting at the Pali Golf Course in 2004.

Chinese immigrant Kai Ming Wang pleaded guilty on Monday to operating a gambling and racketeering enterprise. He hired a group led by Ethan Motta to protect his gambling rooms.

Motta and two associates on Monday admitting killing two rival strong-arm men at the Pali Golf Course.

Wang was taken detained by immigration on Tuesday, but his lawyers said deportation is harsh for someone who aided the murder investigation.

"He implicated himself and told the government exactly what he was doing, and they in turn used that to go out and put their case together," defense attorney William Harrison said.

Wang is expected to be sentenced to about two years in prison, which he has already served.

The three gunman are expected to be sentenced to between 20 and 27 ½ years in prison, as KITV reported exclusively.
