HONOLULU -- A neighbor of "Lost" TV star Josh Holloway on Friday confessed to the gunpoint robbery of the celebrity and his wife. The home invasion was part of a crime spree by a 20-year-old drug addict.Ruben Royce entered a guilty plea nearly three dozen times. He accepted responsibility for five home invasion robberies during three weeks in October and September 2005."He stepped up because he is hoping to turn his life around," defense attorney Terry Marshall said."Basically he was driving around looking for fancy cars, nice homes," Deputy Prosecutor Maurice Arrisgado said. One of the cases involved the Hawaii Kai house and Mercedes owned by Holloway and his wife. Royce awakened them early in the morning as he banged a gun on their bedroom door."They were just scared. They thought they were going to get killed. This guy was very vicious and had no hesitation in pointing the gun in their face," Arrisgado said.Royce's attorney said he did not know Holloway was a TV star until after the robbery and the national publicity that put pressure on police."When you show up in something like Details Magazine that's not ever helpful," Marshall said. The judge made Royce read his potential penalties out loud to make sure he knew the impact of his guilty pleas. His plea agreement set his sentence at 30 years.Prosecutors will ask the parole board to force him to serve the entire 30 behind bars."He's about 22 now, that's only like 52. We are hoping that period of time might change his behavior, but you never know," Arrisgado said.Holloway still lives in Hawaii full-time. However, his agent said he was on the mainland on Friday and would not comment on the plea agreement.Prosecutors said he and Royce's other victims will be invited to speak at his sentencing in April.
