HONOLULU -- There was a breakthrough for prosecutors Friday in the Liquor Commission inspectors scandal.
Indicted liquor inspector Kenneth L. Wright agreed to plead guilty to accepting bribes from bars.
Wright was one of eight inspectors accused of taking payoffs from bars in return for either leaving the premises or ignoring illegal drinking or sexual behavior.
Wrights' attorney said Wright, a former police officer, has been cooperating in the federal investigation before last month's indictment and wants to take responsibility for his action and move on.
Wright's guilty plea is scheduled for July.
