The Hawaii Superferry added to its canceled trips to Maui this week because of high seas by keeping the ship at Honolulu Harbor on Saturday.

KITV has received complaints from passengers stranded without a car because of the cancellations.

The company said it is making safety a priority and doing what it can to alleviate the inconvenience, including allowing passengers to rebook or get a refund and the car will be returned to their home island at the company's expense.

"The data that we have says the times of sea conditions are going to be small throughout the year. We do know there will be some days during the year that we'll be canceling and we're in one of those periods right now. I think we really try to reach out and to address their circumstances and to assist them as best we can," a Superferry representative said.

Passengers are encouraged to visit the company's Web site to check for alerts prior to their travel plans.
