More than 1,200 University of Hawaii students graduated Sunday morning in UH Manoa's fall centennial commencement exercises.

Some well-known football Warriors were among the last undergraduates to receive their diplomas, including Rustin Saole, Karl Noa, Amani Purcell, Siave Seti and Colt Brennan.

Even the commencement speaker, Hawaii-based venture capitalist Barry Weinman, donned Brennan's No. 15 jersey while delivering the address. And while long lines of students received their diplomas, others took the opportunity to chat with Brennan, take a photo and get an autograph.

"Just like everything this year, it's kind of been a surreal feeling," Brennan said.

His comments went for everyone today -- even Michael Ragasa and his family.

"I've been in school for six years, but I went overseas to fight in Iraq," Ragasa said. "I took my time; took a detour. But I got (the diploma)."

Brennan met with his parents, friends and the media privately after the ceremony, elated about his degree.

"I've been in school for so long, it seems like. I graduated (high school) in '02, went to prep school, went to three different colleges. So to finally be done is just the biggest, greatest, feeling," he said. "I'd like to go play football, if I can. But cool thing is, I got a degree, so if football doesn't work out, I'm all set. I'll be fine. I'll be just fine."

Brennan said with a degree in communications, he wouldn't be surprised if he was holding a microphone one day.
