The woman at the center of the controversy of racist comments surrounding Duane "Dog" Chapman, the reality TV bounty hunter, spoke out on Monday.

Monique Shinnery, who is African-American, is the girlfriend of Duane "Dog" Chapman's son, Tucker.

In a taped conversation, Chapman was heard using the N-word in reference to Shinnery. He also told his son to break up with her.

Chapman issued a statement apologizing, saying he was taken out of context.

Shinnery said things are far from resolved.

"I think Duane's apology was pathetic because it was not directed toward us. He didn't personally call Tucker or me to apologize. His attorney, Brook Hart, did. So, I personally don't accept it," Shinnery said.

Hart said Chapman's son sold the taped conversation to the National Enquirer.

A&E has pulled "Dog the Bounty Hunter" from its schedule and suspended production, pending an investigation.
