The Superferry is headed back to Honolulu after a short, uneventful trip to Maui Saturday night.

KITV's Catherine Cruz talked with passengers who, after a two week wait, were anxious to be reunited with their cars.

Earlier in the day, there was a steady stream of customers heading into pier 19.

Some came by taxi, while others were dropped off by friends and family.

"We were trying to be understanding, and it's something they could not control, but it's been two weeks now, and its been a real inconvenience, and personally I felt we could have been better informed," Maui resident Natalie Sagon said.

The passengers will be reimbursed for their out-of-pocket expenses, but some said they just wanted the whole hassle to end.

The Superferry said it required only registered owners to sign for the cars.

Honolulu resident Steve Royal said he worried about what he would find on the other end

"I've got a leaky tire, so I've got the automatic thing -- the one you plug into the lighter. I have a feeling I'll have a flat tire when get over there too," Royal said.

But the overall feeling from passengers, despite the hassles, was that they would most definitely use the ferry again.

"I had a blast on the first one. I was disappointed it ended, and I understand people have issues with it, but I hope it would all be covered in the future," Royal said.

"It would have been nice if they had everything worked out before they started running, but I love the ferry," Honolulu Resident Dan O'Sullivan said.

But not all the vehicles were released Saturday. There are about a dozen cars in the lot that are bound for Kauai.

Officials with the Superferry said they hope they can get the way cleared for their return sooner than later.

On Monday, a Maui judge is expected to hear arguments from both sides of the Superferry debate.

KITV will have a crew on Maui and will have the latest from the Valley Isle.
