Media and Superferry employees and friends got to take a test run on the Hawaii Superferry Tuesday.

It was the first chance for the ferry's crew to put to a test what they have been practicing for weeks.

Security and boarding took a while as all vehicles were visually screened, and a random few were selected for full searches.

Once the process was complete, however, everyone kicked back and raided the free snack bars.

"The food is great -- this is nachos with Kalua pig and my husband is having a Kalua pig sandwich," said Geila Fukumitsu, a Superferry guest passenger.

Guests said the boat rocked a bit, but officials said the lack of weight from cars made for a bumpier ride.
