Superferry Passes Major Landmark

Hawaii's Superferry made a landmark passage on her journey home, said officials.

The Alakai ferry reportedly passed through Panama Canal Monday night and has been has been covering about 450 miles a day.

Officials said the next stop is Los Angeles, where it will refuel and prepare for the last leg of her voyage to the islands.

The ferry is on track to arrive at Honolulu Harbor early July, said officials.

Services will be offered between Maui and Oahu and between Kauai and Oahu later this summer.
