Bus Driver Pleads Not Guilty In Fatal Crash

HONOLULU -- A former tour bus driver indicted with manslaughter for causing a deadly tour bus crash pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday.Steve Oshiro was driving an empty Roberts tour bus about a year ago when it crossed the center line on Kamehameha Highway in Kahaluu and collided head-on into a sport utility vehicle, killing its driver, Corey Voss."This was a terrible event and we ask everyone to keep an open mind. You see news clips. Sometimes you see just a brief glimpse of what the evidence is. We believe there's a lot more to this story," Oshiro's attorney, David Hayakawa, said.A judge set bail at $100,000.Witnesses told police Oshiro was weaving at the scene after the crash.He refused a drug and alcohol blood test, but police did not force him to take one.Earlier that same day, Oshiro's tour bus got into a minor crash with a city bus. No one was injured in that crash.
