HONOLULU -- The U.S. Army scheduled a meeting with the Waianae Neighborhood Board for Wednesday night to discuss what to do about thousands of rounds of ammunition dumped decades ago off the Waianae Coast. An underwater survey conducted by the University of Hawaii and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration last year found the munitions off Pokai Bay are not a threat to public health. Community leaders and activists are demanding the military clean up the site. The Army is in town to consult with local leaders, along with state and federal officials about what should be done. The survey found that thousands of rounds of ammunition, including some artillery shells as big as three feet, did not pose a threat to fish and sediment in the area. The meeting will be held Nanaikapono Elementary School in Nanakuli at 6:30 p.m
