2007 NORTH SHORE, Hawaii -- The father of a North Shore shooting victim said he believes someone else may have been the target of the gunman's bullets. So far, police have not arrested anyone in connection with the case.A steady stream of friends and family stopped by the home of Dillon Ching's house on Kamehameha Highway to give condolences and offer support.A memorial is set up in his honor with family photos showing happier times.Ching's wife, Desiree, said their 3-year-old son, Isaiah, is having a difficult time and keeps asking for his father.Ching's father, Billy, said he believes the shooter fired shots in the air, hitting telephone lines and then hit his son three times. He said another man at the house may have been the target."The guy must've been standing right over here and then he just fired," Billy Ching said.Police are following up on leads and interviewing the many witnesses that were at the scene.Police said that Dillion Ching handed his baby to his wife and went to help his brother, who was being beaten with baseball bats."I just want that guy to turn himself in I don't want it to escalate any more just leave it go turn yourself in. It will all be better," Bill Ching said. The family says there are parties in a vacant lot across the street from the Chings' house on the weekends. What was different this past weekend was that the partygoers brought with them bats and at least one gun.Blood is still visible in the grass where family and friends called for an ambulance, trying to save Ching's life."What if it was him? What if it was his son? I ask anybody that what if it was your son? How would you feel?" Billy Ching said.Police believe the people partying at the park are from Wahiawa. The family believes it is just a matter of time before there is an arrest. Previous Story:
