Police arrested a 23-year-old man who they said allegedly arranged a meeting to have sex with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl, according to authorities.

The teenager was actually an undercover detective.

Authorities arrested Ivan Sakata at Kahala Mall, where he arranged to pick up the girl and take her back to his apartment, police said.

He faces charges of electronic enticement of a child.

If convicted, Sakata faces a minimum of one year in jail under a new law guaranteeing stiffer penalties for Internet predators.
