HONOLULU -- Janet Jackson's world tour is wrapping up in Hawaii and HBO is producing a concert special that is giving the state a badly needed economic boost.
Janet Jackson spent the day at Waimea Falls Park surrounded by production crews and bodyguards. Jackson said she wanted to shoot the HBO special in the islands because Hawaii has a special place in her heart.
"We'd vacation here. My brothers would perform here. My family would come here and just enjoy Hawaii. I have a few friends that are from here. It's a very special place for me," Jackson said.

Video shot at Waimea Falls Park will show up Saturday night as the Janet Jackson show opener and also on the HBO special.
Anthony Eaton is producing the show for HBO and said it's employing about 350 people -- about 100 from Hawaii.
"This being an HBO show, it's one of the more expensive shows you can do on television because they spare no expense. I can't tell you exactly how much were spending but it's well into seven figures," Eaton said.
Tickets are still available for Saturday's concert. Jackson said there will be a surprise guest.
The HBO special airs Sunday at 9 p.m.
