Ehime Maru Memorial Unveiled In Kakaako

HONOLULU -- Over 200 people attended a ceremony to unveil the Ehime Maru Memorial at Kakaako Park Saturday morning.
Families of the victims and survivors from the Ehime Maru were also in attendance.
The memorial features one of the anchors (pictured, right) from the sunken vessel along with the names of the men and boys who died.
Governor Ben Cayetano spoke in Saturday's ceremonies saying he hopes the victims' families can return to Hawaii in the future to "enjoy the aloha spirit of the people of Hawaii."
Students in the Japanese club from Saint Louis School (pictured, left) also exchanged gifts with students from the Uwajima fisheries school.
The students from Saint Louis promised to take care of the monument.
