Hundreds Caught Speeding On First Day

HONOLULU -- More than 900 speeders were captured on camera on the first day that the state's photo enforcement system issued traffic citations.According to the state Department of Transportation, 927 vehicles were caught speeding Wednesday out of 13,507 vehicles that were photographed on various Oahu roadways.Beginning on Wednesday, the state began issuing traffic citations to speeding vehicles as opposed to warning letters that were sent during the system's experimental phase.Officials do not expect to have a final tally of tickets issued until Monday morning.
