The power outage from Sunday's earthquake caused two sewage spills on Oahu.

About 15,500 gallons of partially treated wastewater was spilled into Lake Wilson in Wahiawa. The spill happened until emergency generators kicked in.

About 1,200 gallons of partially treated wastewater spilled at the Sand Island Wastewater Treatment Plant before emergency generators started working there. The sewage spill did not escape the facility, officials said.

Workers posted warning signs at Lake Wilson. City officials said they notified the state Department of Health.

City officials said that the public should avoid the affected areas.
