Authorities have charged three people after a mentally disabled woman was found handcuffed, bleeding and chained to a sandwich-style billboard in her family's backyard.
The Pensacola News Journal reported that Florida Panhandle deputies are calling the incident one of the most brutal cases of abuse they have ever encountered.
Neighbors called 911 early Saturday. A deputy who arrived at the home heard someone crying in the backyard and found the 21-year-old disabled woman bound with pink fur-covered handcuffs and bleeding from the mouth. She was also wearing two large wooden signs around her neck with two metal chains.
The woman's mother, stepfather and a family friend have been charged with aggravated abuse of a disabled adult. The disabled woman and three young boys have been removed from the home.
