HONOLULU -- Police in Honolulu said an 18-year-old woman fell out of a moving car overnight and was struck and killed by another car on the H-1 Freeway near Pearl City.

Investigators said the incident occurred in the westbound lanes near the Kamehameha Highway overpass just after midnight, KITV reported.

According to police reports, the woman may have been unconscious before the car hit her. The woman died at the scene, authorities said.

The road was closed until about 5 a.m. on Monday.
